AWARDS

Points will be awarded at each championship round irrespective of and separate from any championship run by the promoting club.
End of year awards will be awarded to all classes but will be dependant on the level of support for the relevant class.
Championship points will be awarded as follows 1st ~ 10, 2nd ~ 8, 3rd ~ 6, 4th ~ 5, 5th ~ 4, 6th ~ 3, 7th~ 2, 8th~1
Points will be awarded in both races on the day and trophies generally for the first race of the day only.
In the event of the promoting club running more than 2 races per day per class Earlystocks Championship points will only be awarded in the first two races.
In the event of a weekend meeting each day will count as a separate championship round.
In the event of only one race being run at a championship round this will carry double points.

CLUBS

In the majority of cases you will also have to be a member of the race organising club i.e. EMRA etc Details of the membership forms for the other clubs you will need to join will be sent out to you following receipt of your Earlystocks membership application and when race dates are confirmed.

ENTRIES

All entry forms are to be sent to the Earlystocks race club irrespective of the organising club however cheques please to be made payable to the organising club i.e. EMRA etc.
A club member may race a machine that is known to not comply with the regs on a maximum of 3 occasions and only if by the closing date there is space on the grid; this applies only to otherwise eligible machines that fail to comply with the regs in some minor way.
Anyone failing to comply with the machine eligibility rules will not score points or be eligible for trophies and will start from the rear of the grid.

MACHINE ELIGIBILITY

DEFINITION OF MACHINE TYPE

Due to the large number of versions of the same basic models that have been made over the years where the word standard is used in the regs this will relate to the basic machine type, not a specific model or year of manufacture. The determining factor will be whether the machines share major features I.e. main frame loop, wheel diameter, fork diameter and generic engine type. If so they will be considered as the same type of machine.
For example you could take a DOHC CB750 fit a CB900 engine and in effect it becomes a CB900, and you can use the larger diameter forks used on the later 900s. You cannot put a CB750 engine in a later CB900 and continue to use the larger diameter forks. All YPVS 350 machines are considered the same type as they share the same main frame loop wheel size and engine type; therefore brakes, forks, wheels etc are interchangeable despite there being marked differences between model years.

Twin shock Class.

Any "production" twin shock air cooled machine of a type readily available in the U.K. pre 1990 i.e. listed as a pre 1990 UK model. P & Ms, Rickmans etc are not considered production machines.
Certain twin shock water cooled machines are allowed e.g. GT750, VT500, and CX500 etc.

Monoshock Class

Any "production" monoshock machine of a type readily available in the UK pre 1987 i.e. listed as a pre 1987 UK model. Bimotas, Harris etc are not considered production machines.
"Production" means any model imported/made for use on UK roads as sold in standard condition.
Limited editions or machines imported for homologation purposes prior to the official UK eligible model year are not allowed e.g. TZR 250s imported semi officially for 1986 TT homologation purposes.
Machines after the eligibility year are only automatically allowed provided they meet the criteria for machine type. If in doubt please contact us.

IMPORTS

Although the eligibility rules relate to U.K. machines it is realised that there are a growing number of imports in circulation. To cater for this, imports that are based on a UK model will be automatically eligible provided that there is no engine performance advantage and that any rolling chassis differences do not go beyond what is permitted in any respective class.
Imports not falling into the above category will be considered for eligibility on an individual basis.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Where a machine was offered with optional extras from new, these modifications will be allowed provided that the machine owner can provide documented evidence of such modifications being offered as "official" extras at the time of sale.

FRAMES

Twin shock & air cooled classes.

Main frame loop and geometry must remain standard i.e. steering head angle must not be altered. The addition of gussets or other forms of bracing is permitted provided the general appearance of the frame remains close to standard i.e. general profile remains unaltered. You cannot add a perimeter box section frame and claim it is merely a braced standard frame as it retains the original headstock and swing arm pivot points. The choice of swing arm is unrestricted as are rear shocks but top suspension mounts to remain as standard.

Pre 1987 Monoshock classes

Water cooled and/or alloy framed machines

Main frame loop, swing arm and suspension linkages to remain as standard, i.e. standard geometry and no additional bracing, brackets to fit non standard seat units etc are not considered to be bracing.

Steel framed machines

Main frame loop and suspension linkages to remain standard, i.e. standard geometry and no additional bracing, brackets to fit non standard seat units etc are not considered to be bracing. Non standard swing arms are permitted.

FORKS & YOKES

Twin shock class

Front forks can be from a pre 1990 production machine i.e. no race forks etc. Maximum stanchion size permitted to be no greater than that of original forks. Yokes must be from the same manufacturer as the frame. Period type steering dampers i.e. cylindrical piston types are permitted. Fork braces are allowed.

Monoshock class

Forks and yokes to remain as standard fitment, internal modifications are allowed. Steering dampers of period type, .i.e. cylindrical piston type, are permitted. Non standard fork braces are allowed.

WHEELS

Twin shock class

Wheels incorporating either magnesium alloy or carbon fibre are not allowed unless the standard wheel, or component of wheel, has been retained. Any wheel not from a production machine must be of a type available pre 1990.

FRONT WHEEL

Minimum diameter 18" no rim width limitations.

REAR WHEEL

No diameter restriction, maximum rim width 4.5"

Monoshock class

Wheels to remain as standard fitment and spindle diameters to remain as standard.

TYRES

All classes

Only moulded treaded race tyres or road legal tyres are permitted, "WETS" are not allowed, no cut tyres, no tyre warmers allowed.

Twin shock class

750cc and 1300cc class machines are limited to a maximum rear nominal tyre section of 160.
250cc, 500cc and single/twin cylinder class machines are limited to a maximum rear nominal tyre section of 130, radial tyres not permitted for these classes.

Monoshock class

No restrictions on tyre size.

BRAKES

Twin shock class

Front Brakes. Any twin piston calipers may be used. Any discs and master cylinder may be used. Fitment of twin discs is permitted. Rear Brakes. Any rear brakes are permitted.

Monoshock class.

Standard sized discs to be retained calipers to have no more than the original number of pistons. Any master cylinder may be used. Any machine originally fitted with a single piston caliper may uprate to a twin piston caliper. 250LC class may uprate to a twin disc 350LC system.

BODYWORK

Non standard seats, tanks, handlebars and rear sets are permitted. Fairings are not allowed unless standard fitment, pattern fairings i.e. same size and shape are permitted in such cases.
lower fairings may be modified to comply with the ACU oil containment regs. There is no requirement to run a fairing or part of fairing.
All road going equipment e.g. lights etc. may be removed.
For machines without fairings the front number plate must be a flat plate curved in one plane only i.e. not made to resemble a fairing.

ENGINES & FUEL SYSTEMS

All classes

No fitment of aftermarket positive pressure airboxes or conversion to fuel injection allowed.
No rider aides e.g. slipper clutches, quick shifters etc allowed. Unless standard fitment ignition and fuel systems should be separate and independent.

Twin shock class

Any conventional tuning i.e. big bore kit, exhausts, ignition, cams, carbs etc is allowed.
Main castings i.e. crankcases, barrels and heads to be of original manufacturer and from a production machine. Numbers of valves are to remain as standard, crankshaft stroke to remain standard, with the following exception: - Engine size may be increased by using a long stroke crank, only if replacement crank fits without modification to either itself or crankcases. E.g. XJ600 crank can be fitted to an XJ550.
Addition of any material to, and subsequent machining of, main castings either as a performance aide or to enable fitment of alternative heads, barrels etc is not allowed.

Monoshock class

Conventional tuning is allowed i.e. big bore kits, exhausts, gas flowing, ignition, cams etc.
Main engine castings i.e. crankcases, heads and barrels to remain original as is gearbox, clutch type and primary drive. Number of valves and crankshaft stroke to remain standard. Addition and subsequent machining of any material to main castings carried out as part of the tuning process is not permitted. Replacement oil coolers and radiators are permitted but must be of equivalent size as standard and retain original fitment position.
Water cooled/alloy frame
Carburettors or injectors to remain of original type and remain actual original size as standard fitment, i.e. No change from CV to slide carbs, or round slide CV to flat slide CV etc.

Steel Frame machines upto 750cc

Any carburettors may be used. Fuel injection systems may be uprated or changed for any carbs.

Steel frame machines upto 1300cc

Carburettor or injectors to remain of standard type and remain actual original size as standard fitment Fuel injection systems may be replaced by carburettors of a type and size as fitted to an equivalent engine. E.g. GPz1100 injection systems can be replaced with the type and original size of carburettors from a Z1100r etc.

USE OF REPLACEMENT ENGINES

The use of a replacement engine unit even from a later non eligible machine is permitted as long as the replacement is of the same generic type. Broadly speaking this would be a later, and or, larger version of the same basic type of engine, i.e. a development or progression of the original engine, not a new design. The number of valves etc engine stroke to remain as per original.
Where engine modifications effectively allow an engine can be converted to a larger version i.e. Z650 with a Z750 top end or XJ550 fitted with XJ600 barrels and crank etc. Then later versions of this engine i.e. Z750, and in effect a XJ600 engine can be fitted. If a replacement engine is from a model year later than that permitted for that class then the replacement engine as fitted to the donor machine must have no power advantage over the original engine as originally fitted to the original machine.

GENERAL

For clarification of any points you're unsure of, e.g. engine mods, replacement engine units etc please contact us preferably by telephone to prevent potentially expensive mistakes.
All machines must comply with all A.C.U. regulations.
The onus is on the rider to prove eligibility of the machine he/she rides.
